Use Whitewater from ChatGPT and Claude
Whitewater runs an MCP server, so the AI assistant your team already works in can read your plan, priorities, scorecard, and meetings, and create or update work when you ask. It acts as you, with exactly your permissions, on every plan, including the 30-day free trial.

The standard
MCP, in plain words
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard ChatGPT and Claude use to connect to outside tools. Whitewater runs an MCP server, so once you connect it, your assistant can work with your operating data the way it already works with files and the web: you ask in plain language, and it calls the Whitewater operations the request needs.
Claude calls this a custom connector; ChatGPT calls it an app in developer mode. Either way, the assistant gets the same operations Miranda uses inside Whitewater, and nothing beyond them: it can do only what you could do yourself in the app.
- An open standard, not a one-off plugin
- The same operations as Miranda
- Claude and ChatGPT
What it can do
Your plan and your numbers, inside the chat
Once connected, your assistant can read your vision plan, priorities, scorecard, meetings, projects, and tasks, and create or update work when you ask it to. A few things teams ask for:
- “Which of our priorities are off track this quarter?” Reads the quarter’s priorities and their status, and answers with names and owners.
- “Log this week’s scorecard numbers from these notes.” Records each metric’s number for the week on your scorecard.
- “Turn the action items from this call into tasks.” Creates the tasks, with owners and due dates, in the project you name or in the backlog.
- “Put the van inspection problem on the service team’s pulse meeting.” Raises it as an issue on that meeting series, ready for the next meeting.
- “Draft three goals for next quarter and link the projects behind each.” Creates the goals and links their projects, so progress rolls up from the work.
Which of our Q4 priorities are off track? Give each owner a task to post an update before Monday’s leadership meeting.
Two of your eight Q4 priorities are off track:
- First-time fix rate to 90%, owned by Darnell Brooks
- Hire two install techs, owned by Erik Lindqvist
I created a task for each owner, due Friday:
- Post an update on the first-time fix rate, assigned to Darnell
- Post an update on install tech hiring, assigned to Erik
- Read 8 priorities
- Created 2 tasks
Setup
Connect in a few minutes
Everything you need is on one page in Whitewater: open your profile, then API & MCP. It shows the server address and the exact steps for each assistant.
Access stays off until an administrator turns on API & MCP access for the organization, in Settings, then Organization. It is one switch, and turning it off cuts every connection at once.
In Claude on the web or the desktop app, add a custom connector with the server URL. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode, available on the web on paid ChatGPT plans, and create an app with the same URL. In Claude Code, run one command.
Sign in to Whitewater, choose which organizations the assistant may use, and start asking. No API key to copy: the assistant connects by signing in as you.
- Server URL
https://app.whitewateros.com/api/mcp- Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user whitewater https://app.whitewateros.com/api/mcp
After the command, run /mcp in Claude Code, choose whitewater, and sign in. Building your own tools instead? See the developer docs.
Security
Your permissions, your organizations, your switch
A connected assistant is not a new user with its own access. It acts as you, so it sees and changes exactly what you can, and it reaches only the organizations you chose when you signed in. You can see your connected AI apps in Whitewater and disconnect any of them at any time.
Most changes take effect directly, as they would if you made them yourself, so ask for what you mean. High-impact actions, such as deleting or archiving anything or changing people’s access, stop for a separate confirmation before they run. What the assistant does with what it reads is then governed by your ChatGPT or Claude account and its settings.
Plans and developers
On every plan, with an API underneath
Connecting ChatGPT or Claude works on every Whitewater plan, including the 30-day free trial, with nothing extra to buy. The assistant’s AI work runs on your ChatGPT or Claude plan, so it does not draw on the AI allowance that comes with Whitewater. See pricing for what each plan includes.
Building your own tools? The same operations are a documented REST API. Create a personal API key in Whitewater for a script or a scheduled job, or sign in with OAuth, and every call acts as you, with exactly your permissions. Start with the Whitewater developer docs.
- Every plan, including the free trial
- No add-on to buy
- A documented REST API
- Personal API keys for scripts

More ways Whitewater fits your tools
Beyond AI assistants, these connections are live in the app today.
Google Meet
Connect your Google account and choose Google Meet for a meeting series. Every meeting in it gets its own Meet link, which moves when the meeting is rescheduled and goes away when it is removed. The link sits on the meeting and in its prep and wrap-up emails, and each meeting you host lands on your Google Calendar too.
Add to calendar
Once a meeting request is approved, an Add to calendar download puts it in any calendar app.
Sign in with Google, Microsoft, or GitHub
Each person can sign in with the Google, Microsoft, or GitHub account they already use for work.
Spreadsheets in and out
Miranda reads your CSV, XLSX, PDF, DOCX, and PPTX files and drafts your workspace from them. Reports export to Excel, and the scorecard to CSV.
Questions about MCP and the integrations
Straight answers about connecting ChatGPT and Claude to Whitewater.
What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude connect to outside tools and data. Whitewater runs an MCP server, so a connected assistant can read your workspace and create or update work through the same operations Miranda uses, as you, with exactly your permissions.
What is the Whitewater MCP server URL?
It is https://app.whitewateros.com/api/mcp. Add it as a custom connector in Claude, or as an app in ChatGPT’s developer mode, then sign in. In Whitewater, your profile’s API & MCP page shows the same address with step-by-step instructions for each assistant.
Is it safe to connect ChatGPT or Claude?
The connection is built to be. Access is off until an administrator turns it on for the organization, and the assistant acts as you, with exactly your permissions, in only the organizations you choose. High-impact actions, such as deleting or archiving anything or changing people’s access, go through a separate confirmation step before they run. You can disconnect an assistant at any time, and turning the organization’s switch off cuts every connection at once.
Do the assistant’s changes wait for my approval?
Not all of them. Most changes, such as creating a task or updating a priority, take effect right away, as they would if you made them yourself. High-impact actions wait for a separate confirmation. Inside Whitewater, Miranda works differently: every change it makes waits for your Confirm.
Which plans include it?
Every Whitewater plan, including the 30-day free trial, with nothing extra to buy. On the assistant’s side, Claude works on the web, in the desktop app, and in Claude Code, and ChatGPT connects through developer mode on a paid ChatGPT plan. An organization that has gone read-only because its trial or plan ended cannot be reached until the plan is renewed.
Does it work with Cursor or VS Code?
We have verified Claude, on the web, in the desktop app, and in Claude Code, and ChatGPT. Whitewater’s server follows the open MCP standard, and the setup page in the app also lists steps for other clients such as Cursor and VS Code, taken from those tools’ own documentation. We have not verified those clients ourselves, so we do not promise them.
Is Whitewater listed in the ChatGPT or Claude directory?
No. You add Whitewater yourself, as a custom connector in Claude or as an app in ChatGPT’s developer mode, with the server URL above. It takes a few minutes.
Do I need Miranda too?
No, and you do not have to choose. Miranda is built into every Whitewater plan and works inside the app, staging every change for your Confirm. A connected assistant works from ChatGPT or Claude, and its AI work runs on your plan with them rather than on the AI allowance that comes with Whitewater. Use whichever fits the moment.
Can developers use the API directly?
Yes. The same operations are a documented REST API under /api/v1. Use a personal API key for scripts and scheduled jobs, or OAuth for an app of your own, and every call acts as you, with exactly your permissions. Read the developer docs.
